The team manages enterprise systems and cloud platforms supporting IPOS' digital services. As part of the Cloud Platform Automation and DevOps Engineering initiative, the intern will work on automation, monitoring, deployment pipelines, and platform engineering projects that improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and security. The intern will have opportunities to develop automation solutions using common Government tools, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enhance observability and monitoring capabilities, and support cloud operations using modern DevOps practices. The project provides hands-on exposure to enterprise-scale cloud environments, automation frameworks, and software engineering practices used in the public sector. The intern will also support the design, development and testing of AI-powered Skills and Agents to automate operational tasks, improve access to knowledge, and enhance productivity across engineering and operations teams. This includes prompt engineering, workflow automation, integration with enterprise systems, and evaluating AI solutions in real-world operational scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

- Learn DevOps practices including CI/CD, release automation, and platform engineering. - Gain hands-on experience developing scripts and platform solutions to automate IT operations and system administration tasks. - Apply Infrastructure as Code principles using tools such as Terraform and cloud-native services. - Gain and execute observability concepts including logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards. - Work with cloud platforms and enterprise systems while applying security and reliability engineering best practices. - Design, build and evaluate AI Skills and Agents using enterprise AI platforms to automate workflows, improve knowledge retrieval, and enhance operational productivity.

Prerequisites

- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. - Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or PowerShell. - Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools. - Basic understanding of networking, cloud computing, and software development concepts. - Experience with AWS, Git, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or observability tools will be an advantage.
