Behind every seamless digital experience for Singapore's students, teachers, and school administrators lies a complex cloud infrastructure that needs to stay fast, reliable, and secure — around the clock. MOE's Digital Excellence and Products Division (DXD) is responsible for keeping this infrastructure running at its best, serving hundreds of thousands of users across the national education system. As a DevOps Infrastructure Automation Intern, you'll be actively building the tools and systems that make this possible — writing Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure tasks, setting up real-time monitoring dashboards, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines within the Singapore Government's own tech stack. Your work will have a direct and tangible impact on the reliability of MOE's digital services, all within a fast-paced Agile environment alongside experienced engineers. Learning Outcomes

Infrastructure Automation Mastery: Gain practical experience developing automation scripts and Ansible playbooks to manage real-world cloud infrastructure, reducing manual effort and improving operational consistency across government systems. Cloud Operations & Observability: Build hands-on skills in monitoring and maintaining AWS cloud environments using tools such as CloudWatch, DynaTrace, and the SG Tech Stack, including configuring dashboards, alerts, and logs that support system reliability. DevOps & SRE Practices: Develop a working understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) workflows, including CI/CD pipeline integration with GitLab, incident response, and root cause analysis in a mission-critical environment. Cloud Cost Optimisation: Learn how to analyse cloud resource utilisation, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-saving measures — a highly practical skill applicable across any cloud-native organisation. Technical Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Develop the ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, structured documentation and SOPs in Confluence, a critical skill for sustaining operational knowledge in large engineering teams.

Prerequisites

- Currently enrolled in Information Technology, Infocomm Security, Computer Engineering, or a related field - Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows systems - Basic scripting skills in at least one language such as Python or YAML - Interest in DevOps, SRE practices, systems monitoring, or cloud technologies - Knowledge of AWS services, or CI/CD tools such as GitLab will be an advantage
