The intern will design and build internal tools and services that automate, streamline, and scale our security data operations. This will include APIs that manage multi-SIEM configurations, dashboards that give security analysts real-time visibility into pipeline health, and orchestration services that reliably process massive data volumes — all built on modern multi-cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Learning Outcomes

- Build and deploy internal tools, APIs, and backend services using modern frameworks such as Python, FastAPI, and REST API design patterns. - Work with cloud-native services across a multi-cloud environment (GCP, AWS, Azure), including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. - Apply end-to-end software engineering practices — from system design and architecture through to testing, deployment, and production monitoring. - Develop and maintain data processing pipelines that handle large-scale security telemetry across multiple SIEM platforms. - Integrate software solutions within a security operations environment, understanding how tooling supports cyber defence workflows at national scale.

Prerequisites

Programming: Familiarity with Python, Go, or Node.js. APIs: Basic understanding of REST endpoints and JSON. Cloud & Data: Foundational exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure, and working with data pipelines. Security & Networking: Basic grasp of IP protocols, networking, and standard log data. The above is preferred.
