Runtime (Container Stack/Airbase/GovPaaS) is a suite of products that aims to provide central infrastructure for the Whole-of-Government, so that project teams can focus their efforts on developing features that deliver business value rather than plumbing infrastructure. Think Heroku and Vercel for the Government.
The scope of this internship will be related to the work of operating a system/product. Examples of outcomes/problems to solve:
- Improve the team's visibility and coverage for security vulnerability findings and software reaching End of Life across multiple AWS accounts and GitLab projects, and implement automated triage for prioritisation or automated remediation where possible
- Improve the team's visibility and coverage of available tokens, where they are used, and their expiry, and notify the team to rotate the tokens promptly or automate the rotation
- Extract and process data to generate insights and calls to action to enable the team to make data-driven decisions. For example, reporting on anomalous cost spikes, tenant activity, etc
- Creating pipelines to automate repetitive actions
Learning Outcomes
- Automation via scripting, web apps, CI/CD pipelines, or AI. You have the freedom to design and propose solutions to problems
- Appreciation of the security and compliance work involved in operating a system/product
