The Partner Experience team builds and improves the partner-facing services, applications, and tools used by organisations integrating with Singpass. This internship project will focus on improving the end-to-end experience for Singpass partners by identifying pain points in existing partner workflows and designing and implementing practical improvements. Depending on the team's priorities, this could involve enhancing partner-facing applications, streamlining integration and onboarding workflows, improving self-service capabilities, or developing new features and internal tooling that help partners integrate with Singpass more effectively. The intern will work on a real product and engineering problem, gaining exposure to the Singpass integration ecosystem while collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to understand partner needs, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver improvements that can be used by actual Singpass partners.

Learning Outcomes

- Gain hands-on experience designing and developing production-grade software for partner-facing services and applications. - Understand the Singpass partner integration lifecycle, including onboarding, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing operations. - Learn to translate partner pain points and user needs into technical requirements and solutions. - Develop experience working with APIs, backend services, web applications, and integration workflows in a real-world environment. - Apply software engineering practices such as code reviews, automated testing, observability, security, and maintainability. - Learn how to investigate and troubleshoot issues that span multiple systems and integration boundaries. Gain experience collaborating with engineers, product stakeholders, and other teams to deliver an end-to-end solution. - Develop an understanding of how to balance technical considerations, partner experience, operational needs, and delivery constraints when making engineering decisions.

Prerequisites

'- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go. - Basic understanding of web application development, including frontend/backend concepts and HTTP. - Familiarity with REST APIs and how applications integrate with external services. - Basic knowledge of databases, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals. - Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows. - Able to independently investigate technical problems and learn unfamiliar technologies. - Good communication and collaboration skills, especially when working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
