Network Monitoring Agent for Multi-Cloud Environments: This project involves adapting and extending an open-source network resilience framework — originally built for AWS — to support multi-cloud environments spanning Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The goal is to build a Network Monitoring solution capable of automatically detecting, diagnosing, and recommending remediations for network issues across cloud infrastructure. The solution will integrate cloud-native networking APIs from both Azure and GCP, design robust monitoring pipelines, and enable an AI Agent to reason over network topology, connectivity, and health metrics in real time — providing actionable insights.

Learning Outcomes

- Multi-Cloud Networking - gained hands-on experience in multi-cloud networking concepts across Azure and GCP, including virtual networks, subnets, peering, firewalls, ExpressRoute and Interconnect, Virtual WAN, and Network Connectivity Centre. - Infrastructure-as-code - gained exposure to infrastructure-as-code practices, Cloud SDK and API integration, and the principles behind building observable and resilient systems. Beyond the technical depth, they will strengthen their ability to navigate, understand, and extend an existing open-source codebase — a highly transferable skill in real-world software engineering. - AI - develop practical skills in building and adapting AI/LLM-based agentic systems, covering tool use, reasoning workflows, and the design of intelligent automation pipelines.

Prerequisites

- Candidates should have a working knowledge of typescript or any other programming language, as the framework is typescript-based. - Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is expected, and prior exposure to networking fundamentals such as DNS, routing, and firewalls would be advantageous. - Some understanding of REST APIs and how to work with SDKs is helpful. An interest in AI agents or LLM-based tooling is a plus, though deep expertise is not required — curiosity and a willingness to learn are more important than prior experience in this specific area.
