Government Commercial Cloud 2.0 (GCC, https://www.tech.gov.sg/products-and-services/for-government-agencies/software-development/government-on-commercial-cloud/) is a key platform within Singapore Government Technology Stacks to enable government agencies to create high quality and reliable government services for citizens using commercial cloud services. GCC Engineering Team develops the required platform automations, processes, toolchain and policies/best practices to enable government agencies to develop, deploy and operate government services on the cloud in an agile yet secure manner. You will be joining a team within the Customer Success function that runs a hybrid Engagement and Solution Engineering Team. Join the Customer Success Engineering team to have a say in shaping and influencing the roadmap of a key nation-wide platform. We have several projects lined up for choosing for interns 6 months and above we'll have 2 responsibilities (primary and secondary) for maximum exposure and learning! Here are a list of things we are working on and where we'd love for you to contribute: - GCC Pulse is a cloud-cost and governance dashboard being built on Snowflake: it brings together AWS, Azure and GCP spend, billing verification, savings recommendations, anomaly detection, tagging and resource-level views, with agency access scoped to their own data. It is being piloted before broader rollout, while integrations, security controls and data-lake capabilities continue to mature. - SBI is a centrally provided standard build image service that gives agencies and partner teams ready-made OS images, with some baseline hardening and ongoing image builds, so they can reduce setup effort instead of building everything themselves. - UX Research: We want to expand and have a deeper understanding of the user journey from 0 to 1. Where "0" being having a project requirement or need and "1" being the end state of getting something deployed in GCC

Learning Outcomes

Pulse or SBI: - Full-Stack Development Skills: Gain hands-on experience in developing and maintaining both frontend and backend solutions for public sector services. - Programming Mastery: Enhance skills in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript or Go), with a focus on best practices in coding. - API Development: Learn to design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable APIs for mobile, web, and partner services. - Testing Methodologies: Develop proficiency in implementing and executing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing for software systems. - Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD): Acquire practical knowledge of building and managing CI/CD pipelines to deliver software iteratively and efficiently. UX Research - End-to-end journey research (derive the 0 to 1 journey map through qualitative methods) Multi-persona research design (agencies are varied in maturity, cloud mental model, processes, workflows and skillset) - Communicating research to technical stakeholders (present findings to a mix audience of customer success, platform engineers and product managers) - Platform & Systems thinking (understand how upstream platform decisions create downstream UX consequences for agencies) - Customer success research integration (opportunity to work with a CSE team that is atypical setup in government context)

Prerequisites

- Familiarity with CICD (Gitlab) - Proficient in Python - Knowledge of AWS and Terraform is an advantage
