- Not just code, but problem solve: Understand business problems and requirements, co-create solutions with stakeholders to solve those problems, or even decide on policy changes to achieve the best outcomes.
- Produce Thoughtful Products: Write good production-grade code that is easy to understand, maintain and scale, as well as build products that are intuitive and easy to use.
- Work in small and agile development squads: Around 2-4 members for a project.
- Take ownership over your own workstreams: Take on exploratory tasks, and decide on the best method to achieve their desired outcomes.
- Be willing to work in an interdisciplinary manner: Engineers are expected to go beyond their main job responsibilities (e.g. Software Engineers taking on related design and project management work) in order to achieve the best outcomes for the product.
- Work in a rapidly changing environment: Be able to build and deploy your own rapid prototypes including system architecture, data architecture, UI design, etc., as well as test and get user feedback.
