This internship supports the development of AI-enabled prototypes, internal tools, and agentic workflows to accelerate AI adoption across GDT. The intern will use GenAI tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise and modern vibe coding approaches to build practical solutions that help CIO teams work more effectively. The work will focus on supporting CIO teams in turning operational pain points into working prototypes, developing lightweight AI agents and workflow automations, testing ideas quickly, and documenting reusable patterns for broader adoption. The intern will work closely with the team to explore how GenAI can improve productivity, reduce manual effort, and strengthen internal capability for responsible AI use. This role offers hands-on exposure to applied AI development, rapid prototyping, and software engineering in a public sector environment.

Learning Outcomes

- Gain practical experience in building software prototypes and internal tools using GenAI-assisted development workflows. - Learn how to use vibe coding techniques to translate problem statements into working solutions quickly. - Develop skills in building and iterating on AI agents and automation workflows using tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise. - Strengthen understanding of software engineering practices, including debugging, testing, version control, and deployment of lightweight applications. - Learn how to apply responsible AI principles, security considerations, and maintainability standards in public sector solution development.

Prerequisites

- Interest in software engineering, generative AI, and rapid prototyping. - Basic programming ability in at least one language such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript. - Comfortable using AI coding tools and learning new developer tools independently. - Good problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguous requirements. - Familiarity with Git, APIs, and web application development will be an advantage.
