Procurement Digitalisation & AI aims to explore and develop practical digital and AI-enabled solutions that make government procurement simpler, more efficient and user-friendly. The project will involve working on real-world procurement challenges and taking ideas and prototypes towards practical solutions. Key initiatives include enhancing and validating an existing AI-enabled RFQ Generator that aims to reduce the time and effort required to draft procurement documents, as well as developing interactive procurement guide to make procurement knowledge and resources easier for officers to access and navigate. The project may also involve the development, enhancement and testing of other procurement digitalisation solutions. Through these initiatives, we aim to reduce manual effort, improve productivity and create a better procurement experience for GovTech and/or public officers.

Learning Outcomes

- Applied AI and Digital Solution Development: Gain hands-on experience in exploring, developing and enhancing AI-enabled and digital solutions to address real-world procurement challenges. - Product Development and Prototyping: Learn how to take an idea or existing prototype through further development, experimentation and refinement towards a practical solution for users. - Problem Solving and Requirements Analysis: Develop skills in understanding real-world operational challenges, identifying user needs and translating business requirements into practical digital solutions. - Testing and Evaluation: Gain practical experience in validating use cases, testing solution outputs and assessing the effectiveness of digital and AI-enabled solutions through iterative testing and improvement. - Government Procurement and Digital Transformation: Develop an understanding of government procurement processes and gain exposure to how technology and AI can be applied to improve productivity and transform public sector operations.

Prerequisites

- AI Solution Development: Hands-on experience in developing AI-enabled applications, such as Generative AI/LLM-based tools, AI assistants, chatbots or other AI solutions, with an interest in applying them to solve real-world problems. - Technical Development: Able to develop, integrate and troubleshoot digital solutions, and comfortable exploring and working with new technologies and tools. - Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand operational challenges and translate them into practical technology solutions. - Learning and Experimentation: Self-driven and comfortable experimenting with different approaches, learning independently, and iterating solutions based on testing and feedback. - Preferred: Experience with areas such as LLM APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI, web application development, APIs or other relevant AI development tools and frameworks will be an advantage.
