MOE's 370 public-facing websites have grown organically over the years — each evolving independently across different platforms, domains and operating models, with little overarching coordination. While this reflects the breadth and diversity of MOE's programmes and services, it has also created real challenges: websites that are hard to find, inconsistent in accessibility, unclear in ownership, and increasingly difficult to sustain. The proposed Website Governance initiative is MOE's answer to this — a structured, forward-looking framework that brings clarity and coherence to the entire website landscape. At its heart is a fit-for-purpose platform approach that matches each website to the right technology — whether Isomer Next for informational sites, Optical for complex mission-critical services, or WebSG for dynamic engagement-oriented content — paired with a standardised domain structure under *.moe.gov.sg or *.moe.edu.sg to strengthen public trust and whole-of-government alignment. This initiative lays the groundwork for a more discoverable, accessible and sustainable digital presence for MOE — one that better serves students, parents and educators for years to come.
