Workpal is a mobile app that gives public officers access to a range of services and information on their personal devices, anytime and anywhere. It serves about 179,000 officers across the public service. The team works with backend system owners to identify the mobile functions that matter most in the employee and workplace service journeys, then delivers the experience together. The result is faster transactions and actionable communications that improve productivity and engagement. You will work alongside the product team and get hands-on across the product lifecycle. This includes sitting in agile ceremonies with engineering and design (backlog refinement, sprints and retrospectives), taking part in needs analysis with partner agencies, shaping features from problem statement through to launch, and seeing how a release goes to market and is measured after it ships.

Learning Outcomes

- Gain hands-on experience in different areas of UX, particularly in user research, interaction design, UX writing, and content strategy. - Participate in the planning and conducting of UX research activities such as user interviews, stakeholder workshops, and usability testing sessions. Learn how to translate research findings into actionable insights. - Experience creating design artefacts such as wireframes, information architecture diagrams, and more.

Prerequisites

- Passionate about UX. - Demonstrate understanding of user-centered design principles. Demonstrating knowledge in UX design processes is a plus. - Experience with at least one industry design tool e.g. Figma, Illustrator - Have strong work ethics, and is a self-motivated team player. Can work independently and with others. - Provide a design portfolio in addition to your resume. It should showcase the design projects that you have done, and it can be in any format (e.g., website, presentation deck)
