- Solve problems, not just design screens: Understand user needs and business constraints, clarify requirements with stakeholders, and propose end-to-end solutions (include process/ policy considerations when needed).
- Design usable, thoughtful experiences: Create flows and interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use (e.g., forms/ workflows, dashboards, Slack-based interactions, internal tools), and ensure designs are practical to implement.
- Work in small and agile development squads: Collaborate day-to-day with a tight team (typically 2 - 4 people) to ship increments quickly.
- Own a scoped workstream: Take responsibility for a defined problem area (e.g., a feature flow, an MVP module, usability fixes), plan your approach, and drive it from discovery, design to validation.
- Prototype, test, iterate: Build rapid prototypes (low- to high-fidelity), run lightweight user testing, and refine based on feedback and data.
