- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in any discipline: design, computer science, human-computer interaction, or something with no obvious connection to either. What you have made matters more than what you are studying.
- Evidence that you build things. A site, a tool, an extension, a small game, a plugin, a bot: something you made because it bothered you that it did not exist. We are not prescriptive about what you built it with, including if AI wrote most of the code.
- Work we can see the thinking in. Show us what you tried, what failed, and what you decided. A rough thing you can talk about honestly beats a polished thing you cannot.
- Taste you can defend. Not "I prefer this one" but why: what it does for the person using it, what it costs, what you would change.
Some working familiarity with front-end web technologies, at whatever depth you have reached.
- Preferred but not required: experience using AI tooling in your own design or build workflow, an interest in design systems or internal tooling, and any connection to education.
